My philosophical belief is that therapy is not about cure. Rather, it is about individuals and usually involves transformation. Most often people initiate therapy because they are suffering and tend to describe their suffering as feelings of either depression or anxiety. I believe that symptoms are created as a form of help, telling us that something is not working. Usually symptoms protect us from our real feelings. However, feeling—while sometimes uncomfortable—cannot physically harm us but symptoms can. Finding a way to sit with our feelings allows us to have a clearer understanding of who we are trying to become. When we are living authentically, symptoms tend to dissipate. I work with trauma, depression, anxiety, cultural diversity, career problems, eating disorders, parenting difficulty, and relationship issues. My work is supportive, in-depth, and Jungian oriented. I have a PhD. in clinical psychology. I live with my boyfriend of 10 years - we have a dog and two cats. In my spare time I enjoy painting and am currently working on writing a novel.
