In my psychotherapy practice, I work with adults and couples and have an orientation that is holistic, depth-oriented, and transpersonal. My approach is eclectic and informed by several theoretical frameworks including: object relations and attachment theory; Jungian ideas about the self, individuation, and the developmental importance of transitions like midlife; the neurobiological aspects of attachment and trauma; and the development of a more authentic self and life path. I believe that we live in a relational context and that our capacity for relationship with others depends on our capacity for relationship with ourselves. I work with all clients to increase awareness of themselves and their patterns, both healthy and unhealthy, to have greater choice and freedom in the way they live their lives and experience themselves and others. The issues I work with include:
- depression, anxiety, abandonment, infertility
- transition issues like midlife and divorce
- grief trauma
- relationship challenges & communication
- self-awareness self-acceptance
- empowerment for both women and men
- development of healthy coping skills
- addiction issues
- body image embodiment
- issues with food, eating & weight
I am a licensed psychologist and a graduate of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and a doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology. My training, clinical experience, as well as my life experience as a wife and mother, give me the breadth of expertise necessary to help adults and couples grow and mature. I provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment to help you face issues of personal, psychological, and psycho-spiritual growth as well as practical ways to improve your life.
